DreamJar Privacy Policy

DreamJar collects nothing. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no Internet permission. Everything the child enters stays on their own device, and nothing is ever sent to us or to anyone else.

We can make that promise precisely because the app is not able to break it: DreamJar does not request the INTERNET permission from Android, so the operating system itself prevents it from contacting any network.

What we collect

Nothing. We are not able to collect anything, because there is no server to collect it to and no network permission to reach one.

What the app stores on the device

The information the child types in is saved in the app's private storage on their device, where only DreamJar can read it:

the name they choose to be called
what they are saving for, its price, and their chosen currency
their jars and balances
their money history — allowance, gifts, chores, spending, and the labels they write
an optional picture of their goal, chosen from the device's photo library
their settings, such as theme, colours, motion and language

This data is removed when the app is uninstalled, and Delete all data in Settings erases it — including any saved goal pictures — at any time.

Permissions

DreamJar requests no Android permissions at all. In particular it does not request Internet, location, camera, contacts, microphone, or storage access.

Goal pictures are chosen through the Android Photo Picker, which hands the app the one picture the user picked. This deliberately requires no storage or gallery permission, and gives the app no access to any other photo on the device.

Sharing

DreamJar can create a progress card image and pass it to Android's system share sheet when the user asks it to. The app does not upload it anywhere. Where that image goes is entirely determined by which app the user chooses in the share sheet, and that app's own privacy policy then applies.

Children

DreamJar is designed to be used by children. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no chat or social features, no links out to other apps or websites, and no way for anyone to contact the child through it. Because the app collects no personal information and transmits nothing off the device, there is no personal information for us to disclose, sell, or share, and none is used for advertising or profiling.

Analytics and advertising

There are none. DreamJar contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service, and no third-party tracking library of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new effective date. Because the app has no network access, a change here can never retroactively affect data already on a device.
